JeepClub Events

JeepClub aim to cater for all levels from the  beginner or 'newbie' in a road standard Jeep to those of great experience with modified vehicles. For the needs of those new to Jeep ownership we can give professional advice, tuition and support. Our events are beginner friendly and even at our rare hardcore off-roading activities or competitions we try to always make provision for 'Newbies'. Although our expertise centres around late-model Jeep vehicles - Wrangler, Cherokee, Grand Cherokee and Commander, we have members with models right back to the original WW2 MB and all are welcome to our events. In fact, you don't even need to own a Jeep to be a JeepClub Member. We promote a safe and responsible attitude to off-road driving and exert no pressure on our members to tackle obstacles they do not feel comfortable with. Help and advice is available at every step and the key to the concept is the informal atmosphere.  As a service to members we also list events from other clubs and organisations.  These may not be suitable for those in unmodified vehicles or with less experience - If anything listed here is not a JeepClub event please check with the organisers to see if it is suitable before booking.

2007 Archive

  • Tuff Terrains - Saturday 17th February 2007
JeepClub is pleased to annouce a return to the infamous Tuff Terrains site, run by British Army instructor Bernie Pugh and one of JeepClub's favourite venues. The site offers a unique mix of obstacles to satisfy drivers of every skill level from beginner to expert alike. Hill climbs and descents, marshes, streams and pools, and woodland expeditions with amazing sideslopes that will have you gripping your seat tightly. The day usually takes the form of instructor-led convoys around the 200 acre site, with the chance to stop and watch others before having a go yourself.

  • Test Your Driving Skills - Saturday 21st April 2007
Following the success of previous years' "Test Your Driving Skills" events, Eugenio has, yet again, kindly agreed to run another one for JeepClub members. Designed to test, and improve your off-road driving skill, the event is based on the principal that people learn from mistakes. TYDS is non-competitive but has some similarity with a conventional 4x4 trial.

  • Whitecliff Quarry - Sunday 10th June 2007
Located within the beautiful surroundings of the Forest of Dean, Whitecliff is a disused quarry measuring some 40 acres. The site has a very technical nature and is used by the site owners for driver training.
  • Avon Dassett Quarry - Sunday 15th July 2007
Avon Dassett Quarry is an old disused quarry that is used most weekends to host a variety of off roading events. Featuring mud, water, sand, rock and hill climbs there is something for everyone from newbies to seasoned mud pluggers.
  • Woodlands 4x4 - Sunday 9th September 2007
Approximately 5 miles south of Brands Hatch, the site is set in 19 acres of dense forest, with views of beautiful countryside. The site comprises a circular scenic route around the perimeter suitable for beginners (white run), with nothing more challenging than a few muddy potholes. From several points around the perimeter, you can watch those testing their skills further on the red runs, designed for the more experienced off-roaders. If you're feeling more daring, you can try one of the black runs, suitable for those with modified vehicles, including the "graveyard" and "bombhole".

A wooded 4x4 site that caters for all abilities... Home of 4x4-withoutaclub.co.uk
  • Slindon Safari - Saturday 17th November 2007
A very sandy site with open area for newbies and axle twisters and a wooded area incorporating the black runs. There is something here for all levels but is more fun in the spring and autumn as is fairly dry in the summer. There are no facilities.
